Hi, my name is Ed Jerum. I've created this website out of my own buying experiences (and mistakes) and my desire to help others save money when buying a new car.
NewCar101.com is a free service dedicated to helping you get the most out of you buying experience. Buying a new car can be an overwhelming and stressful experience. If you spend a few hours researching your purchase and get the right information before buying, it'll be one of the most satisfying experiences you've ever had.
The buying tips I'm offering on these pages are absolutely free. Please use them and apply them wisely - it could save you thousands of dollars. Would you rather spend your extra money on yourself and your family, or give it to your local auto dealership? I think the answer is obvious, so let's begin.
I've broken down the buying process into four important steps. I suggest you follow the steps in order so that you don't miss any information. If you want to jump to a specific topic, you can use the navigation bar on the left-hand side of the page.
Step 1 - Auto Loans
Buying a new car begins with researching your financing options. On this page you'll learn about>>>- Your credit score. The primary measure
that loan companies use to evaluate you is your
credit score. The first thing you need to do to
make sure that you get the best auto loan
possible is to get your complete credit report.
If there are problems, you can often make simple
adjustments that will raise your credit score
significantly. It's essential that you know your
credit score before you apply for an auto loan.
If you apply for a loan without knowing your
score it could cost you thousands of dollars in
extra interest over the life of your loan.
- Auto loans. The amount of the money that your car will cost depends on three factors: the purchase price you negotiate, the amount you get for your used car, and the terms of your financing. Do you know which one is the most important factor? THE FINANCING. You'll learn what loans are going to work best for you, as well as where to get the loans with the best interest rates.(I'll give you a hint. It's typically not at the dealership.) I will also review several online leaders and highlight several advantages to you of getting your loan through an online lender.
Step 2 - Sell your used car
Don't be fooled. Your auto dealership isn't doing you a favor by taking that used car off your hands. Your trade-in is the true battle ground for profit at any dealership. You can save a lot of money by selling the car yourself to a private party. If you don't want to sell the car yourself, then I will show you how to shop your used vehicle around so that you get a fair price for it.
Step 3 - Auto Pricing
With your preparation complete, you're now ready to pick out a new car. This is where the fun really begins! You'll save time, energy and money once you become comfortable using online buying resources. These resources can help you easily determine what you want, the features that you would like to get with it, where you can find it, and what you should expect to pay.If you don't like dealing with high pressure auto dealers don't worry you are not going to. I'll show you how to get dealerships to compete for your business. You'll discover how you can start a bidding war from behind the comfort of your computer screen.
Step 4 - Purchase
Generally, this is where the stress really starts to set in. Why? Because most people start the car buying process at this step and work back wards. First, they go and find something they are totally in love with and must have. Then, they sit down with Mr. Car Dealer who is happy to help them understand their credit report, the value of their used car and their financing options. The only problem is he is not helping you understand your best options. He is helping you to understand his most profitable options.IF YOU'VE NOT DONE YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE YOU GO TO THE DEALERSHIP, YOU'RE GOING TO PAY TOO MUCH.
